Muhammad Iqbal Qadri (Managing Director)

Muhammad Iqbal was born in a remote village of Kanday in District Ghangche, Balitstan. He completed his early education from his native village. From his childhood, Iqbal developed keen interest to meet and work with foreign tourists visiting the area. After he finished his school 1994, he started his career as Porter Sardaar [Supervisor], then as cook and finally as Guide. Now he is one of the well known Adventure Guides, who has a wide knowledge and experience in wilderness trips. He is not only familiar with all trekking routes in Karakoram Range but also has discovered new routes and short treks in the mountain valleys of Balitstan. His enthusiasm and will power has led him to establish his own Agency so that he could better utilize his expertise for the promotion of Adventure Tourism in the region, which the local population may benefit from.Beside his expertise as Adventure Guide, Mr. Iqbal is a very active social worker. He is currently running two Welfare Organizations and an English Medium Elementary School, namely as Village Development Organization Kanday [VDOK], Village Conservation Committee [VCC] and Amin Braq Public School [ABPS] respectively.

Ibrahim Khalil Nakjanpa [CEO]

Born in Kanday village did his school from the village school. Mr. Khalil started his career from the bottom and achieved his goal with his positive attitude towards his profession. He is among the well known adventure guides and above all he is a very famous Rock Climbing Instructor. He has led several climbing Expeditions to various Peaks in the Karakoram Range. He is also serving as Rock Climbing Instructor at various local climbing schools in Baltistan and also to foreign tourists interested in Rock Climbing. He has worked with world famous rock climbers and learnt climbing skills and techniques from them. Beside this, he has successfully completed his climbing course conducted by International Mountain Leadership Institute at Nangma Valley, Kanday Village, Khaplu Baltistan. Mr. Khalil has done a number of other courses related to the Mountain Tourism in Northern Areas of Pakistan.

Muhammad Ali (Executive Director)


Mr. Muhammad Ali belongs to Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Started his career from Skardu in 2002. He joined Summit Karakoram’s team as Executive Director. Mr. Ali is an energetic and hardworking member of our team and growing his skills day by day in the field of Adventure & Cultural tourism.

Haji Muhammad Ibran

Born in Khanay Village, District Ghanchay, Skrdu, Baltistan, started his career in 1989 from the base and achieved his goal with his upbeat approach towards his profession. He is among the well known and highly experienced adventure Guides. He has led several climbing Expeditions to various Peaks in the Karakoram & Himalaya Ranges.

He has accompanied several renowned expeditions from almost all over the world. In last 19 years MR. IBRAN has gained plenty of experience in climbing skills and techniques from professional climbers & trekkers around the world.

Mr. Ibran has escorted numerous expeditions & trekking groups in past 19 years in different capacities e.g. As Cook, Guide, Liason Officer, Senior Adventure Guide, Assistant Guide etc. Few of the expeditions he has worked with are given here as reference :

Beside adventure activities, Mr. Khalil shares the responsibility of Amin Braq Public School [ABPS] as chairperson and as president of Village Development Organization and Village Conservation Committee. Khalil ’s social activities are not just limited to the two Organizations and the school, but he equally plays important role in other community activities.

Besides organizing tours and adventure programs, the team of Summit Karakoram is also involved in development activities based on local community level.

   

Amin Braq Public School
Established in 2002 for the promotion of English Medium Education. The very first and only school in Kanday village providing quality education according to the needs of the modern era. Mohammad Iqbal Qadri, the present CEO of Summit Karakoram initiated in the establishment of this school and now working  as a very active member of the community and village representative. The school is run under his supervision flood of July, 2002 swept away almost the entire village leaving hundreds of people homeless. All the agricultural land came under the flood and within no time the entire village became a heap of stone and mu.

   

Village Development Organization
Kanday village was badly hit twice by flood and the devastating d.

The Village Development Committee was then established for the rehabilitation and further development of the affected village. At first stage, the VDO provided relief services and immediately identified a safe site for the reconstruction of houses and land. VDO took serious interest to collect funds and donations for the reconstruction of homes and primary shelters.
Our team is a big hand in making this Organization run successfully. We have earned great achievements in the development of the village.

Village Conservation Committee
VCC was found in …………… and our Mohammad Iqbal Qadri is the ------------------- of the Committee. The Committee is responsible for the conservation of wild life and stop illegal hunting of rate animals such as Ibex, Snow Leopard. The Committee is also deals with environmental issues such as deforestation, sanitation and restoration of traditional architecture
